The first question was how did the plants survive underwater for over ten months? Secondly, what did the animals do to deserve to die in the flood? From my understanding, it was the humans that were corrupt. Thirdly, what is a clean animal? Additionally, how did all the species of animals fit onto the ark at once? Furthermore, how did the ten month supply of food fit on the ark along with keeping it fresh? Lastly, the piece states that the humans will be cursed above the cattle. Why and how were the cattle cursed?
The meaning of the story is to show the consequence for straying from the light of the Lord and acting corrupt and evil. The story is also meant to most likely give a warning to anyone who wants to challenge the Lord’s power and to show that other’s actions can affect other people. The story also conveys that there is a pinprick of hope. If you do “walk with the Lord,” then you may very well be rewarded and spared.
