My assessment also showed I need moderate improvement in decision-making. Assessing and decision making is an integral part of our jobs as nurses. Transitioning into leadership roles requires decisions to be made on an organizational level. These decisions can be challenging and at times involves conflict, however, competency in this area in vital to being an effective leader. According to the Macrothink Institute, there are key factors involved in the decision-making process of successful leaders (Al-Tarawneh, 2012).
