Doing this research I’ve come to find that out of the three jobs that I selected, a project coordinator is paid the most on average. The project coordinator is paid $89,509 a year on average. I was shocked to find out that out of the three careers chosen, that a public relations specialist is paid the least of all three. The public relations specialist on average is paid $45,931 a year. I expected that the project coordinator position would be the highest paid out of the three, however I did not expect for the teacher to be paid more ($53,447 a year on average) than the public relations specialist. I expected the teacher to be paid the least of all three. Usually teachers are thought to be paid the least when comparison to other professions. Some factors that could play a part in the difference could be number of days worked (teachers usually have a 9 month work year), levels of responsibility the job carries (project coordinators are generally in charge of seeing an operation through from beginning to end) whether or…
The tables below show the impact of the medical premiums as a percent of base salary and assume that an individual receives the entire wage pool. The current average base salary is $109,257 for Profs and $80,539 for Techs.…
Immigration law is an important source of employment for paralegals, especially in places where immigration has been massive. In states like Texas, Arizona, California, and even Illinois, there are important law firms that litigate in immigration before the USCIS. These firms require paralegals with knowledge and skills in this field, especially in order to be in touch with their clients and get all the information needed to provide their service.…

With our economy so bent out of shape, the price of everything has gone up. It’s causing many companies to go out of business because people can no longer afford their products and without the customers money the companies can’t thrive against their competitors. In the future I plan to attempt to beat out my competitors, not by jacking up my prices, but by lowering them to a more affordable price for everyone. I plan to be a counselor some day and instead of charging hundreds of dollars per session I would only charge one to two hundred dollars per session. I figure that way even if I only had two sessions a day per week that will total to over 3,000 dollars a month. I feel that with that salary I can live comfortably instead of living pay check to pay check. That alone I feel would be enough for me. Of course like most I aspire to have lots of excess money to spend however I want and live a lavish…
Paralegals have been around since the early seventies and the debate whether paralegals should be regulated has been around just as long. Paralegals assist attorneys in various legal capacities including drafting documents, conducting factual and legal research and working with clients. Although many paralegals can do much of the same work as lawyers, they may not practice law or give legal advice to clients.…
I believe that the salary should be raised to that of a reasonable pay to which a person could live off of. Texas Legislatures deserve to get paid more than minimum wage for the work that they do not just for themselves, but for the state. They make decisions that effect Texan’s lives and with that reason I believe we should raise their salary to an amount that can accommodate their duties as a Texas Legislature. Texas Legislatures do get compensation which is about 168,000, according to The Book of the States, 2010 Edition, vol. 42 (Lexington, Ky.: Council of State Governments, 2010), 113-116. This may be the reason many Texans do not want to raise their salary, but this allowance is only for regular and special sessions. The least that we voters can do is increase the pay for Legislatures of Texas because they serve an important role as a part of our state law…
There are proven benefits of being a paralegal. First, the employment outlook is great because the demand for legal assistants is on the rise. Second, being a paralegal is an entry-level job that does not require the student to attend law school or pass a bar exam. Third, working within the legal industry is a prestigious and rewarding career choice. This is especially true because paralegal work is very intellectually challenging. However, it is also rewarding because paralegals can make a different in the quality and outlook of their client’s lives.…

In areas where the cost of living is higher, the local economy is thriving, the salaries maybe higher. It is one of the fastest growing careers in today’s world. Americans spent more than $2 trillion on health care in 2007 (Entrepreneur Press and Jennifer Dorsey), and the numbers continue to rise. The health care industry provides 14 million jobs, and it is estimated that the industry will generate 3.2 million new jobs by 2018. There is also a growth demand for women, but we see men breaking into to it more. A good salary, average is $45,000 annually with benefits. Considering a fulltime job in this field offers benefits like health insurance, dental, 401k,…
The book raised many issues that I had never really given much thought to. Issues such as licensing, certification, and registration; educational requirements; and the conflicting positions of the two leading national paralegal associations. While I knew that there were no required licenses to become a paralegal, I never really thought about how that affects the career as a whole, and the issues it raises as far as determining who is really a paralegal, and who is just a glorified legal secretary. I had actually given a lot of thought to what the educational requirements would be and what employers would value more: education or experience. Some told me to pursue the degree, others told me to concentrate on getting experience and everything else would fall into place along the way. I didn't really know which person to listen to, or who was really right. With regard to the two associations, I was surprised to read that they hold conflicting positions on certification and the like. I think it makes more sense to build a united front reflecting the view of everyone who is a paralegal. I plan on discussing these things in further detail throughout the…

Nurses have a very good wage and as they accumulate more experience at the workplace their salary will increase, sometimes exponentially. For example, the medium wage for a nurse is around $52000, with a very experienced nurse being able to earn anywhere from that sum and up to $75000 or even more. This is a job that has a great pay, so if the financial side is very important for you, becoming a nurse can be a…
On the other hand, Roberto Hinojosa, a high school math teacher, disagrees with that statement. Roberto believes professional athletes are overpaid as compared to the salaries of public service workers, such as police officers, fire fighters, and teachers. Individuals such as these lay their lives on the line daily, and teachers motivate students towards higher learning as well as guiding willing students towards helping themselves to acquire the knowledge they need to know to become productive adults. All of these public servants are paid a great deal less, over the life span of their career. Salaries for a teacher average $50,950 a year, a police officer, $50, 512 per year, and a lead firefighter, $57,000 per year, as compared to a football player earning $32.4 million per year.…
