Why Do Romeo And Juliet Listen To Their Parents

In Romeo and Juliet, a young boy and girl fall in love with each other. However, in order to be with together, they have to turn against their families. Even though this does happen in real life sometimes, I think it is best for the teenagers to listen to their parents. Although some kids run off to be with the person they love no matter what their parents say, they normally do not have a strong relationship or connection with their parents in the future. This proves that some people think that only their decisions matter and they think everyone else is against them when they disagree.

When Juliet's family wants her to marry Paris and are trying to force her into marrying him, Juliet kept trying to tell her mother and nurse that she did not want to marry him. I do disagree to this because forcing someone into something they do not want to do is rude and the person would not be happy. However, Juliet was already secretly married to Romeo so this made her not want to marry Paris even more. Yes I do think it is right to listen to your family, but when they try continuously to make you marry someone you don't love or even like, I think you should be able to tell them that.
This doesn't make sense because they are barely in their twenties. Wouldn't you think that they would be more focused on finishing/starting college or even try to find a career? I do understand that people don't want to be too “old” when they start dating, its just that finding someone when you are in your mid- or late twenties is better than getting married when you are just turning 20. Because then, you would have to have enough money for all the wedding supplies and more to pay for your
