Why Do Tachyons Exist
Tachyon particles are theoretical particles that supposedly have a minimum speed of the speed of light. Tachyons, (from the greek word ‘tachys’, meaning swift), have never been found in experiments, but scientists think that they exist as faster-than-light “quasiparticles”. In the 1960s, some physicists wondered what would happen if matter could travel faster than the speed of light, something that is supposed to be impossible according to Einstein's Theory of Special Relativity. Tachyons were first mentioned by by physicist Arnold Sommerfeld, and they were named by Gerald Feinberg.

Tachyons can have properties of normal matter like spin, as well as an antiparticle (the antitachyon).Tachyons appear to violate causality, because they can be sent to the past assuming the Theory of Special Relativity is true, this creates a time paradox. Therefore, it seems that if Tachyons do exist, the Theory of Special Relativity must be false, “and there exists a unique time order for all observers in the universe independent of their state of motion.” quoting scienceworld.wolfram.com.

In 1973, Philip Crough and Roger Clay found a putative particle in an air shower, although this result has never been found again. Tachyon particles have some strange properties such as when Tachyons are losing energy, they are gaining speed. When they are gaining energy, they are losing speed. Tachyons supposedly go faster than the speed of light, which could be possible due to the fact that Tachyons have an imaginary mass. The slowest speed a Tachyon can go is the speed of

Dr. Lederman uses a metaphor of a soccer game with an invisible ball to show the process by which the existence of particles is worked out. This metaphor is useful to get a sense of the experience of a particle physicist as he or she conducts his or her experiments in the particle accelerator. This chapter Dr. Lederman gives a brief background story of what led him to particle physics.…

I believe that the new particle is a new unexpected particle. I have the opinion of the new particle because although it is likely that ATLAS made a mistake there is also reasonable doubt that it is in fact a new particle that has excess photons produced. Through his famous 1911 gold-foil experiment, Earnest Rutherford, a former student of Thomson, evolved the atomic model once again. Rutherford and his colleagues fired alpha particles, helium atoms that had lost their two electrons, at a thin piece of gold foil (only 0.00004 cm in width). They used a screen coated in zinc sulfide to "catch" the alpha particles after they had penetrated the gold foil. The screen would also emit a flash of light where it was hit by an alpha particle, which enabled them to measure to what extent the gold foil affected the particle's path. Rutherford had predicted the alpha particles would all be able to penetrate the foil, although they would be scattered slightly by collisions with the foil's atoms.…

(von Daniken 1972) fails to include the marks of a good explanation. The theory does not provide a mechanism as it does not explain how it was possible for time travel to occur centuries ago, and it does not have predictive power or falsifiability, as it is unable to be proven or tested. Further, it is incompatible with existing scientific knowledge, such as the theory of evolution; it also has no explanatory power, and multiplies entities beyond necessity, arguing that aliens were involved, and so does not include Ockham’s Razor (Schick and Vaughn 2014,…

This fact may present a challange for modern sceince because this is not a scientific theory as it cannot be experimentally verified or falsified. Once we move into metaphysics the naturalistic assumption of science must be done away with as it is no longer either justifiable or useful. Indeed it is a metaphysical statement itself--as it lies behind science, it cannot be examined scientifically.…

The Duet Papagena/Papageno is a duet from Act 1 in the Opera Magic Flute that was written by W.A. Mozart in 1791. It starts in a 2/4 time sang allegretto. It starts with an ostinato ‘pa pa pa’ by the two voices while the orchestra blends in harmony. Staccato is used to give it a joyful, jumpy and light feel to the music. The instruments that have been employed have bright timbres and include violins and oboe; there is also prominent use of the panpipe which makes the piece quite expressive. The voices have a call and response technique while occasionally singing together in harmony. The piece is set on G major, which is a bright key to sing on. The melody of the song is folk-like; the rhythm is bouncy, carefree and dance-like. Listening to…
