They said he was getting picked on by his classmates because he was smarted and well-spoken. He was a good boy, until he was tired of being picked on. His mother didn’t know it’ll get too out of control. She found him in his bedroom when she was returning home from work. She said that he was getting picked on from school to school. She said that they were calling him names like “gay boy” and “fatso”. They also strangled him with a tie and they was poking him. So, to him, the only way to prevent the bullying to stop, he decided to get some painkillers and end it all for himself. Now, that’s a story that should change people’s minds about teen suicide. It’s not a joke about suicide. Suicide is the worst cause of death out of all other causes. Take suicide seriously. You never know what that person’s story is and why they decide to do that certain thing to their

Determining why children and adolescents commit suicide is a concern that many individuals in the helping professions face. Obviously, they commit suicide because they are depressed in many instances, but it is also accurate to say that there are other reasons why many of these adolescents choose to take their own lives. Some of them are involved in substance abuse and other issues that cause them to think suicide is the right idea. Others are involved with crowds of other adolescents that drag them down into painful issues and problems that they have trouble facing. When this happens, some of these individuals begin to feel that they are trapped in these problems, and the only way that some of them find to escape those problems is through…

With a situation as traumatic and heart wrenching as the one just described, the first thing any parent would do is find someone to blame. And that’s exactly what the parents and friends of Brandon did. They pressed blame on his peers for bullying him so much that he felt the need to take his own life and they blamed administrators and staff for not recognizing it sooner and handling the situation properly. However, Brandon’s family and friends were wrong. Like most of us, they are not aware that bullying is not the main cause of suicide among teens. Research has shown that suicide is the “third leading cause of death among teens” (Teen Suicide Statistics), but other underlying factors are involved. Some of the underlying factors that contribute to teen suicide include psychological disorders, physical or sexual abuse, and parents who may be experiencing separation or divorce.…
