Why Do You Believe In Unbendingly?

It’s no secret, life is chaotic. It begins as a child, though I doubt you begin to notice until much later. In fact the very second you were born it had already begun. Mom and Dad did as much as they could to help you adjust, but the warm world you had lived in would never be the same. You messed your diaper, you rolled off the bed, and you collapsed in earsplitting tomato faced hysterics for no reason. You couldn't even get food from the table to your cute little mouth for quite some time. Then something spectacular happened. You wanted to pick up a spoon and feed yourself. You could control your own muscles and you could think through things a little more
Thomas Jefferson said "In matters of style swim with the current; in matters of principle stand like a rock." In order to avoid being absorbed by the natural chaos of life it is significant that you know your principles. They will serve as the cornerstones of your foundation. What do you believe in unbendingly? Which values in life are held simply as matter of opinion? For example I know that God is the creator of the world. I know that the ten commandments are points of inflexibility, and would be really frustrated if one of my friends had a murdering habit, but I don't particularly mind if your favorite color is green or yellow, or if you like or dislike my outfit today. What are your feelings about current culturally debated topics and events? It's critical that you understand them as if these things were events happening right outside your window. If you stand up for nothing they will be on your doorstep soon enough. It’s not in vain! Even if the topic never addresses itself to you directly you have still contributed to the fulfillment of making yourself a well-rounded individual. If you don’t decide what you believe you’ll be blown around like a leaf in autumn, to eventually be burnt up or crunched beneath a muddy boot.
