Why Do I Need This Scholarship
My name is__________ , and currently a senior at____________. After high school I plan to go to college and major in Criminal Justice or English, then law school, following that pursue my degree as a lawyer at a big law firm. I have had mentors in my life, but the one that stuck on to me the longest was Mrs. Jones. This woman was the one who picked me up turn me around and place my feet on solid grounds. Also she has sacrificed so much for me I feel like another child of hers but knowing that she always has my back lifts my spirit. Mrs. Jones always told me, “It’s not who you know, it’s who knows you because someone is watching you, and from then on I act maturely in public.
My dreams and aspirations are to be so successful that I am not dependent on anyone else. Ever since I was a little girl, I have wanted to be someone with power. To obtain power, I have to first obtain the knowledge, and to do that, I need to go to college. I have seen people become too dependent on others, and if anything upsets that relationship, the dependent one just crumbles. I don't want that happening to me, so I plan to study hard, make good grades, and be a top executive in a big firm. However, with my new goal-oriented nature, I will realize that I am working towards my college degree and my future success, and I will regain the drive to excel. Moreover, I now realize the emptiness in the lives of people who can only do one thing well. There is tremendous benefit in being well-rounded, and I now understand that even my least favorite subject will contribute to my ultimate goal of living a rewarding life while working at a fulfilling career. The courses will be challenging, but I am willing to do what it takes to achieve my ultimate goal.
Today my appreciation is stronger than ever. The colleges I have chosen not only provide me with the hands-on training, but also teach me about real-life skills and communication. But due to a high financial cost needed to attend the college, I am very limited on my resources. My mother works very hard to provide us with family necessities, and take care of the household, while my father is deceased. It would really ease the burden on my shoulders if I had received the money for college tuition, and not fully depend on my family to make my dreams come true. It would also help me reduce the stress which I may face concerning financial aid; therefore I can focus easily on my education in the classes. I have learned a great deal concerning my future. I have chosen my road, but it has a lot of humps in the middle due to high cost of college tuition. I would be greatly appreciated if I received the money to pay for my college, and ease the burdens of my family and myself. I am assured that a fair and unbiased decision will be made from all the applications.

Everyone who reads the Kite Runner will stir up empathy inside them for the Hazaras, the reason is lying in the accurate representation of racial devaluation. In august of 1998 Taliban forces killed roughly 8000 Hazara men, women and children in one city. Mass murders like that were not happening before the Taliban took over Afghanistan, but the life of a Hazara was still far from easy. The relationship between pre-Taliban rule and during is the fact that large groups of people saw Hazaras as less than human. My grandfather would have loved me going to Japan and would have supported me whole heartedly. I want to go to Japan not only to see what he saw, but also to improve the little that I know and improve myself.…
