I got the information to write this letter from Bronte’s description of Heathcliff’s past. Heathcliff was adopted by Mr. Earnshaw and fell in love with his daughter, but get obstructed by
his brother and finally left with anger. After analyzing Bronte’s psychological description about Heathcliff and direct depiction of his actions of taking over the Earnshaw family brutally, I found that Heathcliff is portrayed as revengeful and extremely emotional. His revenge had already been rooted from when he left the Wuthering Heights.
I choose to write a letter because it conveys genuine thoughts, which makes it explanatory to what Bronte did not tell the audience. I imagined Chandler as the audience since I suppose Heathcliff earned such wealth through partnership business. I will adopt a semi-formal tone that illustrates both their friendship and partnership. To achieve this aim, I will use appropriate salutations and choose informal and emotional vocabulary when expressing Heathcliff’s thoughts.
