Why Does Nephilim Exist
The topic that has been chosen is the Nephilim. This is a very interesting creature that are mentioned in the Bible more than once. This topic was slightly difficult because when you look it up you will come up with a bunch of video game topics such as, what you should name your Nephilim character and how to tell what level your Nephilim is at. If you dig a little deeper you can find some facts that finally do not have to do with video games. As sad as it may be instead of explaining how to level up your Nephilim this paper will talk about how people in this world think that they actually exist. This paper will inform you about, what exactly people think that the nephilim were, and where they have been found and are believed to have lived …show more content…
The term, Nephilim, actually translated to, giant, in both Hebrew and Greek. The conclusion that most Christian people have come to is, that these creatures are the offspring of fallen angels and human women. Another common belief is that they are the offspring of Seth. Seth is one of Adam’s son. One of the other very common belief from a non-religious point of view is that the creatures are actually aliens that came to Earth from other worlds. Most people have said that these creatures are giants. One of the examples in the Bible is the battle between David and Goliath. Goliath is supposedly supposed to be a Nephilim. Now you know how it came to be, you can learn the rest.
According to David Emery, there have been many findings of giant skeletons that have swarmed the internet since 2004. Most of the pictures that you find online have been photoshopped to put in an enlarged human skeleton or skull. A good majority of the discovery you have heard about are fake and definitely use photoshop. Most of the findings that have been proven to be real have all been in the Middle East or Mediterranean. Most of the discoveries that have been documented are in Greece. They have also been found in the Nepal

The Great Flood is guessed to have started in the year 2348 Bc (Hodge). Bc is before Christ was born. The angels fell not long after the humans were created because they thought it to be unfair that god loved the humans more than he loved the angels. After the angels fell we started to have Nephilim because the angels became attracted to human women. Some people believe that the Nephilim still exist to this day. This theory does make sense seeing that if the angels that fell created offspring with the human women before the flood then what would be stopping them from doing the same

Gilgamesh was written thousands of years ago, but those who have read Gilgamesh notice something extraordinarily striking about the story of Utnapishtim’s immortality: there is a nearly identical flood story written in the Bible. Many things about the flood story in the Bible seem identical to the flood in Gilgamesh, but there are still many differences. The differences are seen before, during, and after the flood, making the two stories similar, but not quite identical. The floods described in Gilgamesh and in the Bible have an obvious relationship, but each is extremely different in some ways and exactly the same in others.…

Genesis 6:7-8 reads, “7 So the Lord said, ‘I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.’ 8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord” (The Holy Bible). This scripture introduces the well-known story of Noah’s Ark. God sent forty days and forty nights of non-stop rain to wipe out the sin-ridden humans and purify the Earth. One male and one female from every animal species and the family of Noah would be spared in order to repopulate the Earth. There has been much debate over the existence of such an event even though versions have been recorded in many cultures and languages. Some say that the bible’s…

Similarly, in Revelation 12 we see this mesh between a snake and dragon. “The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray.” (Rev. 12:9) This is reminiscent of the serpent in the Garden of Eden who led the world astray when he deceived Adam and Eve. In his commentary on Revelation, Beale confirms this, saying “The dragon is now described as the serpent of old, that is, the serpent of Gen. 3:1, 14.” (Beale 430) Stefanovic agrees with Beale, saying “he is the ancient serpent. This is the allusion to Genesis 3, where through the serpent Satan deceived Adam and Eve, thus bringing sin on the earth.” (Stefanovic 395) In his essay on the dragon of Revelation, Benton points out a verse from Isaiah that meshes the dragon and the ancient serpent together. “In that day the Lord will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, with His fierce and great and mighty sword, even Leviathan the twisted serpent; and He will kill the dragon who lives in the sea.” (Isaiah 27:1) This sums up the major beliefs about the interchangeability of the dragons and serpents. The Leviathan is a serpent and a dragon from the sea. Both the Judeo-Christian culture and the surrounding countries viewed dragons and serpents as the same or similar mythological…

Thousands of texts were unearthed, translated and analyzed starting in the eighteenth century. Assyriologist Freidrich Delitzsch claimed that the Bible was plagiarized from Mesopotamian literature. This was an important statement as it would indicate that the Old Testament was not divine and that Christianity was rooted in mythology.…

In both Genesis and Popol Vuh, humans were created by their gods. The gods created nature and all creatures before creating humans. The humans were the god’s last creations. Both gods were dissatisfied with the humans and punished them. One of the punishments was the floods in both stories, nearly killing all living things. “A great flood was made; it came down on the heads of the manikins, woodcarvings.” (Page 82, Popol Vuh). Now humans are imperfect, having flaws and sinful.…

It is apparent in our class readings, that when the gods are angry at the humans they created, these gods unleash unforgiving rains to flood the earth, and kill the human race. Over the years, there have been various texts about these floods. While the occurrences of the floods themselves are continuous throughout these texts, they have varying reasons for the cause of the floods and different aftermaths or consequences. Three of these texts in particular which tell the story of these floods, are Gilgamesh translated by Stephen Mitchell, Metamorphoses by Ovid and Genesis. The main factor in these floods was of course the god or gods who created it. Therefore, the floods in each of these three texts were different, because the gods who created the floods were different. Even though a flood occurs in all of the three texts, the cause, the flood itself and the aftermaths of the floods are different.…

“And then, a number of centuries later, God said, ‘No, no. Everything is crap; I will send a flood down. I will send a flood down across the world, because it’s all crap.’ He decided to do the etch-a-sketch end of the world, I think.” (Izzard) And that, no matter which story of this particular flood story you look at, seems to be the main objective, to, like a etch-a-sketch, start all over with a clean slate. While there are several differences in how the story is told, there are quite a few similarities, enough to make you consider that there is some truth to this story, no matter which version you accept. And the fact of the matter is that, scientifically, there was flooding in these areas due to natural disasters. Whether or not a god or gods were the reason for these natural disasters is a matter of your faith and opinion.…

One of the most well known theories is the flood story that appears in the Bible. In this story, God was upset at mankind and wanted to rid the world of their evil through a massive worldwide flood. He enlisted Noah, a righteous man of God to assist to save animals and man from extinction by instructing him to build a big boat called an arc. The arc was designed to house two, a male and female of all animals and Noah's family so that when the flood waters would dissipate, these species could repopulate the earth. According to the story, it rained for 40 days and 40 nights and the earth remained flooded for 150 days. (Flood…
