Have you ever read Holes, or at least the first 20 pages, then you would probably know that Stanley Yelnats is existing in a wasteland. These are my several reasons to prove my statement. To begin, Stanley’s physical environment is not a positive place to be in. For example, it’s so barren the only things you can see are the ground, the sky, and Camp Green Lake. Also, it’s so hot that it feels like heaven when you take a 4 min. cold shower. Another way to show that Stanley is living in a wasteland is that it is so dry, there are cracks in the ground.
Not to mention, the people at camp aren’t the best group to meet. On Stanley’s first day at Camp Green Lake Mr. Sir welcomed Stanley but in a very weird way, saying Stanley can run
