I read the book “Eck is Interrupted” and although the author of this book is unknown, it was interesting to find out that there are signs of the use of Irony, playfulness, and black humor that would define this particular work as a postmodern literature. The extreme use of irony and humor by the unknown author of “Eck is Interrupted” indicates that as a postmodern author, these techniques became the hallmarks of their style. In fact, many postmodern authors were first mentioned and collectively labeled as black humorists. It is a common technique for postmodernists to treat serious subjects in a playful and humorous way. In my opinion, the central concept of “Eck is Interrupted” is the use of irony in order to show the black humor of the characters of this book. For example, when Magnu tells Eck, “Dog’s urinating on your suitcase.” This shows that Magnu has no intension of trying to stop the dog. In conclusion, I believe that the extreme use of Irony, playfulness, and black humor by the unknown author of “Eck is Interrupted” is an indicator that this work follows a postmodern literature
