Government regulators have been quite willing to act as enforcer for the reformers. In the process, they have criminalized common business practices and created crimes of full disclosure out of whole cloth where there had been none before. This activity made for great theater and lurid headlines that furthered the political ambitions of prosecutors, but it was certainly not at all helpful to the economy. Corporate governance reforms affect every aspect of life in America when they impose unneeded restrictions on management, and the full disclosure system is the most burdensome of all. SEC regulations govern every aspect of securities trading, from the initial offering and the underwriting process to the secondary markets.…

I believe that the federal government should follow the same regulations as the state when it comes to certain issues. I believe it’s basically a practice what you preach type of thing. I believe the FCC, EPA, FAA, EEOC, ADA, OSHA regulations are great because they protect us and the citizens we were serve and the environment. I believe when regulations are reduced that creates a detrimental effect on our livelihood and life expectancies. Business is a non-factor to me in this sense because If you dot have your health and strength you won’t be able to work to strengthen an economy nor manage a business.…

Generally, the Stock Market Crash led to regulation. Saying that the Stock Market Crash of 1929 devastated the economy is an understatement. A lot of people lost all of their life saving, and it was common that many of those people ended up committing suicide because of it. However, as a country we were able to learn from this significant event. Years after, regulations covering buying stocks on margin and the roles of banks have added protections to prevent this from happening again. The Stock Market regulations objective is to secure their futures, pay for homes, send children to college, and overall, sustain economic growth.
