Why Have You Decided to Pursue an Mba at This Time?
1. Please answer each of the following four questions in a short paragraph of no more than 250 words each.
a. Why have you decided to pursue an MBA at this time?
b. What interested you in Goizueta Business School’s MBA program?
c. What are your short term post MBA goals?
d. What are your long term professional aspirations?
1a. I have decided to pursue a MBA at this time because I have over 2 years of experience in Accounting and Finance. I have completed a double major BBA in Accounting and Finance from James Madison University. After completing my bachelors degree, I was fortunate enough to get an opportunity to work for PricewaterhouseCoopers through campus recruiting. I worked for PwC in the tax department, which helped me gain experience in the accounting field. After working at PwC, I took up a position at Standard Chartered Bank, in the Finance department. Since I now have experience in both finance and accounting, I feel that this is the right time to pursue a graduate degree. The MBA program will help in developing my management skills further, which will help me in achieve my short-term and long-term goals.
b. I know a few alumni from the Goziueta Business School, and they have spoken highly about the MBA program. Emory University’s strategic location close to the Atlanta business hub, makes it ideal for the post-MBA job search. Multinational organizations have setup their head office in Atlanta.
c. Post MBA, in the short-term, I want to gain experience at a multi-national firm in a managerial role. This would help me in developing managerial skills that will be required to achieve my long-term goals.
d. Post MBA, in the long-term, I want to grow my family business which has been established by my father. I want to transform it from an SME into a multi-national organization and diversifying its revenue

The QS Global 200 Business Schools Report originated in the early 1990s as an alternative to business school rankings. The ratings provide a detailed overview of the most popular business schools around the world, based on details provided to QS by over 3,300 employers who actively recruit MBA graduates. Without inferring any overall rankings, QS’ objective is to provide a resource to help prospective MBA students identify the business schools from which employers most actively recruit. The research is intended to be of use to MBA employers, prospective MBA students and institutions worldwide that are interested in international business education and recruitment trends. At the heart of the report is the definitive list of 200 business schools from which employers prefer to recruit MBAs. This list is compiled from an annual survey of human resources (HR) managers and line managers with recruiting responsibilities at companies around the world. Each year, employers recommend new schools to be added to the list. This is then sent to other recruiters to rate.…
