Why I Decided To Write An Autobiography
Honestly, I cannot say for sure why I’ve decided to write an autobiography. I suppose I want a legacy, something to leave behind after I’m gone. Perhaps I hope that someone will read my rather unorthodox views on life and science. In retrospect, my life so far has been rather intriguing to less than intriguing people, but I digress. Let’s get on with the story of my life. All things considered, I had a fairly normal childhood. I was born on April 18,1857 in a small town in Ohio called Farmdale to my parents Ammirus and Emily “Eddy” Drummond. They were wonderful people, and admittedly I’m impressed at how well they managed to deal with my seven siblings in addition to me. Farmdale was a sleepy town in most respects, and everyone’s views blended …show more content…
I became the general attorney for the Chicago and Northwestern Railway, but I felt that wasn’t an important enough way to spend my time. If I was going to be a lawyer, I wanted to be a damn good one. When the workers of the railway went on strike, I quit being the Railway’s lawyer and became the people’s lawyer instead. Since then, I have been dubbed the first labor lawyer, a defendant of laborers, anarchists, and strikers. I was viewed as an extreme radicalist and was extremely popular until I took the case of 1912, in which two people were accused of murder who were allegedly involved in the bombing of the Los Angeles Times building. During the trial, I came under fire for supposedly bribing the jury. My reputation was never the same, and I decided to begin my career as a criminal defense lawyer. By 1920, I found myself immersed in the criminal justice system. In addition to defending the accused, I was able to engage in the most fascinating courtroom debates. I became the top trial attorney in America, especially after Leopold and Loeb took off. I defended two older boys who murdered a younger boy and got them off the death penalty, using the theory of evolution to claim that nature was the reason they’d done it. Between that trial and now, I’ve been slowing down, not taking as many

I have created a book containing laws and elements to certain crimes. Also, I have obtained experience interviewing a variety of people, including young children and special needs individuals. To conclude, I have observed and sat in a court hearing to get the opportunity to observe what the court system is all about. None of these opportunities would be possible without my Public Safety instructor and mentor Donald Hammond. Mr.Hammond has influenced me in a positive way. Mr.Hammond has 30 plus years of experience in the public safety, law career. He has taught me law theories, informed me of criminal and civil law cases, and has taught me how to perform correctly in the professional field. Lastly, he informed me of the career based strategies to succeed in my career. I owe Mr.Hammond my success. That is why I thank…

All in all, the 20th century played a huge impact on the criminal justice system through the Cleveland Survey, the expansion of the American police, and the Model Penal Code. The span of the 1900s witnessed a widespread quickening in the field of criminal justice with the reformation and professionalization of the criminal justice system. Whether this signaled the reversal of past patterns of inattention and the beginning of a new, long-term trend or if it was merely another episode of flirtation with the subject, only the future can…

Here I am in honor classes, but why I’m not smart enough to be here. This is going to be too difficult for me. All I see when I look around are all these outstandingly intelligent people. The only reason I am here is because Mrs. Lee’s class was straightforward or maybe the other people in that class were not very bright. Whatever the reason, I am here and already homework on the first day of school, the other kids probably don’t have homework. I really don’t want to be here, I want to be the smart one again. I feel strange and uncomfortable when I have to speak out loud like if the people around me are judging me.…

After completing the StregthsQuest survey, I learned that my five greatest strengths are Harmony, Competition, Achiever, Includer, and Communication. Some of these strengths I had previously recognized as a strength, but a few were a surprise to me. Growing up, I was always a competitive person. I enjoyed the thrill of winning, whether it be in a team effort or individual effort. Also, I have always wanted to achieve great things in both my personal and professional life. I believe that I have always been great at communicating with others and love to include others in everything that I do to achieve a goal. The biggest strength of mine that surprised me most was Harmony. However, after reading about each strength, I know how I have utilized…

My mother, “Regina Hopkins,” has been a positive influence in my life. She has raised 6 kids all by herself as well as earned a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from a City College in Gainesville, Florida. My mother has been through pretty much everything a person can go through outside of war and was still able to be there and provide for all 6 of her kids. In high school, my mother wanted to play football and couldn't because she was a girl and back-in-the-day women were not allowed to play football with the guys. However, she remained strong by raising 6 kids and independently took care of all of us on her own. My mother has several qualities that I would love to develop. The first quality she has is balance; she certainly knows how to make…

I am writing this quick letter to introduce myself and tell you a bit about my accomplishments and aspirations as a writer. I won't say that writing is in my blood or my genes or anything like that, but I will say that I do have an insatiable urge to write. I cannot say, but I definitely feel that writing is a passion of mine that I greatly enjoy. It is an urge that can only be satisfied and, even then, only temporarily, by stringing words together into a narrative. Ultimately, I greatly enjoy writing, although I do not consider myself to be stellar at it; I would call it a passion more than anything else.…

My whole life I have been a leader, the rule maker, the boss, a take charge and a "get stuff done" type of person. These qualities I attribute to being the oldest sibling, raised by a strong mother, and a stepfather determined to raise another man’s child as best he could. I thrive in situations where I can have control and can help guide a team or myself to the best possible outcome. I apply these characteristics to nearly every aspect of my life, sometimes to a fault. After dropping out of college eight years previously, to follow my dreams of being a makeup artist, I woke up one day and decided my life need a change. Not completing school had always weighed on me over the years like an unfinished task needing to be done. So, why now, what changed? My outlook on life shifted after meeting a special little boy named Jackson.…

My actions are always a direct showcase of my personal characteristics. A few that are particularly important are having patience, being non-judgmental, and thinking creatively. I learned a majority of my patience through my position as a research position. Research does not have immediate results; a good experiment takes time. My seemingly menial tasks, such as entering data, eventually contributed to the final product. I learned to be non-judgmental in my time shadowing an obstetrician, where I interacted with patients with so many stories. To judge them would cause a disservice, and potentially harm them. Finally, I learned to think creatively during my time at the Guild for Human Services. Each student was unique in his or her problems,…

Personal background starts off small, it changes and grows over time into something big, it grows into an identity. Walking down the hallway at school, seeing someone standing alone, my first instinct is to make conversation, compliment, or even just smile at him or her. This instinct came from someone once telling me an act so small could turn a person's entire life around. As a kid, reading encyclopedias about random topics, consumed my time. Many days were spent coming home to find an injured wild animal in my dad's arms waiting to be saved. My dad would sit outside and draw animals, trees, and anything else he saw. Nothing excited me more than trying to draw whatever my dad drew, and as good as he did. Any assignment that was handed to…

It was a perfectly normal Saturday night, until I sat on the couch. I expected to enjoy a funny movie with my dad, but instead I got a trip to the hospital. I sat on the couch, and then I felt a sting in my elbow. At first, it felt like I got a shot at the doctor, but it slowly got worse, and felt more like a knife slicing into my elbow. I winced and sprung up from the couch. I squinted and my eyes scanned the spot where I just sat down. Aha, I thought. There was a small piece of plastic, and it looked like it broke off from a container.…

Throughout my life I have encountered many circumstances that have shaped me into the person I am today. I was born in Moroleon, Guanajuato, Mexico. I attended school in Mexico all the way to second grade. In the summer of 2006 I moved to Cumming, Georgia. It was the hardest thing to do because I left everything that I care the most about. We lived in a trailer which was not the nicest place and in the middle of the forest. I started school at the beginning of August. I had always loved school so I was so excited for the first day. I knew it was going to be hard because I would have to conquer so many obstacles on the way. At this time the only English I knew was probably counting from one to ten and some of the colors. My Father knew some…
