How would you react if the people in your community had to work to supply for you and everyone else? That is exactly how it works in a socialist type of government. The government of Ylime became dystopian when the next generation was not taught how to take care of the environment, but could have been prevented by the current citizens teaching the next generation.…
One of the decisions I made that helped me succeed in my APDC English class was to work harder than my classmates, because success belongs only to those who are willing to work harder than anyone else To illustrate, my first assignment was a columnist project that I have to annotate and soapstone an article, and write a rhetorical précis and a critical response paragraph. I was worried about the grammar and punctuation of my project since English is my second language. In addition, I started my project two weeks before the due date to make sure I had the enough amount of time to fix any grammar error and to make an exemplary project. When I got back my project, I felt very proud of myself because I got a higher grade than many of my classmates…
The reason why my GPA is low was because of my life conditions. At the time of my school education about half way in it, I was having issues in my marriage that later it lead to a divorce that dreaded on awhile and because of that, I also had a hard time to keep up with my bills, which caused me to be severe depressed, sad, and anxious. Which also caused a decrease in attention/focus on my education in school. I really had a hard time to get back into my books and to stay focus in school. If it wasn't for the support from Brown Mackie College Professors to understand my situation, and to help me stay focus I would have never been able to complete my education at Brown Mackie.…
Failure, when pertaining to human achievement is the act of not reaching success. Failure, though, in its own right is just an idea because as Winston Churchill once said, “ Success is not final, failure is not final; it is the courage to continue that counts.” This is a lesson I learned at the end of my freshman year of high school. Freshman year wasn’t my best year academically, athletically, or socially. I wasn’t specifically failing in any of those areas, but I released at the end of year how strikingly mundane I had been when I thought I should have been exceling. I beat myself up, considering anything less than my expectations a failure. I wanted to give up and not care. The weird thing is though, is that this mishap I had didn’t detour…
I am eager to improve myself, which is why I took 23 credits worth of courses in one semester, while simultaneously working part time up to 20 hours a week. I performed well, which is why I pushed myself even further. I took calculus II over the summer, while working longer hours. It did not work out well for me academically, and serves as my one poor recent grade. Although I struggled with the course over the summer, I don’t regret taking the course because it taught me a lot about how I learn information. Our minds are like sponges, and when I was taking 23 credits during the semester I was able to absorb the steady stream of knowledge from various different sources, despite the high volume. However, during the month long summer sequence I was being hit with a fire hose of information. Instead of absorbing the information, I was blasted back. After the fire hose turned off for the day, I was only able to absorb the remaining puddle of information around me, during the limited amount of time I was not working. I learned the lesson that I should have familiarized myself with the content covered in the class before taking it during the summer. I am currently taking calculus II during the Fall semester, and my familiarity with the material has led to me currently have a grade above 100 after the first exam. In the future I will familiarize myself with the information covered…
A student that misses class often can possibly pass that class. It all depends on the grade that they have. Yes missing class sets the student back and causes him or her to spend time making up the work that they have missed, but that does not mean they are going to fail. If this student is passing that class they can afford to miss one class every often. It is when they start to miss too many classes that you should start to deduct points from their grade. A student with a passing grade and does his or her work should not be graded on their attendance because you never know what the circumstances of their absence might be.…
You will also have a zero for your homework grade in every class you are taking. Since most teacher weight homework grades in classes fairly high, you will hopefully be close to having a D in the class. However, having failed all of your classes doesn’t mean you will fail completely at school. You will just have to take the classes again. Therefore, you will need to start brainstorming things to do that are on the next level of unacceptable.…
However, although getting a job improved my life for the better, it also caused more issue. I started failing my Spanish class. Since I had to ride the Marta bus home, I wasn’t getting home until late. This caused me to struggle to get my homework done for my Spanish classes. It was crazy. I managed to keep A’s and B’s in all of my academic classes, but Spanish was a disaster. One day, after working until close at my job the previous night, and not getting home until eleven o’clock that night, I was given a pop quiz in my Spanish class. I knew I was going to fail because I could never manage to understand anything in her class, I and I didn’t study the previous night. Once again, I started crying. Therefore, the instructor asked me to step…
I am writing this letter to tell you because I think you should allow me to do a redo on a test so I can achieve a higher mark than I previously have. With that mark I can pass the course and be successful. You should give me this opportunity because firstly, I need a higher mark in the class so I can pass. I have a 43 present in the class right now and I need at least a 50 percentage to pass the course if you let me do this retest I can hopefully score a higher mark than the one I had previously to bump my mark a little to pass this course. To be honest, my goal is to get higher than 55 which is kind of impossible, but I will try my best on the exam to get a mark that I want. Secondly, I don’t want to fail this course because if I fail, it will go on my transcript.…
I have been studying Comparative Ethnic Studies here at Washington State University going on 3 years, I have been in numerous classes, read chapter after chapter of texts, and have been an active student in those classes from day two. I say day two because I know that I am the type of student who, in a classroom setting, will not speak up unless 1) I am 1000% positive that what I have to say will add and give something to the lecture or 2) I have an idea of the instructors view of me as a student. Yes, I know that shouldn't matter, but to me it does. I have always been the type of person who needs that positive reinforcement, somewhat of encouragement or a belief in my abilities to feel confident in those abilities.…
Do you know anyone in your class who never passes their Spelling test? Well, I do and that person is me! In grade one, I couldn’t spell. So whenever my teacher gave a Spelling test, I would always fail. The children in my class teased me and called me nasty names like ‘dumby.’ I knew that if I kept failing my Spelling tests, automatically I would get teased and I would feel upset, miserable and awful. Being a horrible speller and being teased was my misfortune and it lasted all the way into grade two. But I had enough. I knew I could become a strong, A plus speller if I would just concentrate and study more. I knew I could do it and this became my goal.…
I began my quest for the answers behind this question: why some students fail to learn and other students succeed, from my own personal experiences. My brother and I grew up in the same lifestyle; same home, and went to the same schools. It was not an easy childhood and we didn’t attend the best schools. Our parents were not involved with our school work and the examples they set were not positive. I choose a path of sports, education, and integrity. My brother choose drugs and violence after my parents. I succeeded in school and sports and he didn’t. That question of how I escaped that lifestyle and why education meant so much to me goes through my mind everyday. I asked Laurel Wodrich at Woodland Intermediate West, a middle school located in Gurnee, Illinois this same question. Laurel replied with “Not all students fit into the perfect mold of a student. Every child is different, learns different, and advances different”. I couldn’t of said it better myself. Laurel has been a teacher for 18 years and currently works with students in Special Education.…
There is difference between ONE WHO WANT TO KNOW MORE and ONE WHO IS OKAY WITH WHAT HE KNOW. YOU like to feel clever, intelligent and believe all what you know or have read is right. If you don’t research further on what you know then your intelligence will soon be a dullard. Don’t feel too big to seek more information about course you don’t understand because that’s the only way you can be better than who you are.…
Hi guys. My name is Tung. I’m living in Kien An District. I’m studying English Major in Department of Foreign Languages at Haiphong University. Hmmm… We are in class K12 of English major. Even though 40 individuals in my class have made up a whole class as anyone can see, it might be a little bit boring in reality. To be honest, I've found this because I've seen some guys in here not be sociable enough to the others. I haven't seen any friendliness among every single of us as I ever expected. It's crucial to be of solidarity and attachment in a group/collective. Studying environment is quite important to everyone since this is able to create much positive motivation in study or work effectively. If you are making your contribution to building such a friendly environment in your class or workplace, you definitely get the sound comfort and of course, you are able to develop your talent. As a result of this, we must be in an attachment, not you or me, but every one of us. We have to consider the advantage of teamwork whereas learning foreign language with many practical exercises (as) our priority. Few who are not positively active to join the team may bring the negative results. I myself do hope that all of you will be more enthusiastic to put your parts in team (as the ways our beloved monitor has done, and she has inspired me a lot). One of the reasons that prevented our class development from our contribution is we've all recognized difficulties, but we've been shy to speak them out, or even we've neglected. But, in order to have a class of solidarity, we must be straightforward to point out the weaknesses to help class and members of class better. I hope you are able to contemplate what's been happening through my points of view, and then, you and I have positive…
