Why I Like Playing Basketball
I like playing basketball more than doing anything and here are some reasons why; I love and enjoy both watching and playing the game of basketball. Secondly, I work very hard at it. Third, I am pretty good at basketball. Also, it is what I want to do when I grow up. Fifth, all of my family like the game. Next, I have many goals I set for myself and need to reach, and that makes the sport more fun and intense for me. Finally, my family and I spend quality time together playing and watching the game of basketball. Those are several reasons why I like doing basketball more than anything else.

I have been playing basketball basically my whole life, it is has shaped me into the person I am today. I started with just a ball and a hoop in my cousins front yard. I would just chuck the ball at hoop for fun, horsing around with my cousins. In elementary and middle school I would play with my friends at recess shooting around, dribbling in circles for the fun of it. I was even better then most of the boys who would play with my group on the courts. When I entered high school that was when I realized I was truly in love with the game. High school was where it was taken to a whole 'nother level. I was introduced to the real dynamics of the sport, it was where I learned that if I really want to do something that I love I had to put my all into it. I had to prove that I was one-hundred percent committed to the game. Practicing everyday for two hours, and…

I have many hobbies, but I like basketball the most. Basketball is like my best friend. The first time I played it, I felt interested. I was so interested in playing basketball after watching my brother play, however, I started learning when I was 9 years old. So I kept doing it. Even if I didn't win, my coaches alway said "You can't win, unless you learn how to lose." When I was in 5th grade my brother inspired me to do that. I…

The vibration of the basketball hitting the ground is the best feeling the world. Light was shining through the humongous windows onto the worn out gym floor like a flash light. Since I was 7 years old, basketball has played an integral part of my life. I have devoted countless hours to not just a sport, but a passion, an outlet; to the game that I love. When I arrived at Bow Middle School as a fifth grader, my classmates and I would always look up to the 7th and 8th grade middle school basketball teams. Every year during winter carnival, the boys and girls teams would play a game in front of the entire school. Playing in that game became a dream and a goal of mine, but first I would need to make the team. For three years I developed my basketball skills, using my passion for the sport and desire to play in that game as motivation. When tryouts for basketball in 8th grade drew near, I knew I was ready. However a new coach would be at the helm this year. Our new basketball coach was also a coach for the youth football program. This resulted in numerous football…

From the moment of birth, I was destined to grow up and enjoy the beautiful game called “Soccer.” I grew up in a typical Italian household. As a child I was only spoken to in Italian and grew up living in the same house as my grandmother. My parents were both born in Italia, making me a first generation Canadian. Unlike most kids my age, who are second generation Canadians, I had to learn everything from the start. I had to learn to follow the Canadian traditions for the generations to come, but also be able to keep my Italian heritage proud. Italians are known mostly for their variety of food and cooking, along with their sense of style, but if you ask any Italian to describe something about their heritage, there is no doubt that the beautiful game of “soccer” will be mentioned.…

Nothing has brought out my potential to be a leader more than playing softball. I have never been the girl with a cannon for a throwing arm nor have I been dubbed as the team’s ‘power hitter’ with five home runs in a single season, but that has not stopped me from seeing my true potential and recognizing what strengths I do have to offer. I am aware of my shortcomings yet I am still striving to be the best player I know. My teammates have seen me work my way from having no idea what softball is to being a starter on varsity. I look at the new players who are just like I was my first year and I am rooting for them to be the power hitters with cannon arms even though I may not be.…

Basketball is a very breath-taking sport to play. It draws others closer to their friends, and makes them realize who can really play a good game, or who is an unfair player in most cases. Another thing I like about basketball is that we don't only need friends or relatives to play against. We can play individually by ourselves. It can also be easier to learn when by yourself because we can teach ourselves certain tricks rather than copying from a friend. What's also cool about this sport is that you can play almost anywhere, indoors and outdoors, on a road, your driveway, the park, school, even at parties.…
