My peers would always associate me as the adult in most situations. They usually label me as responsible, empathetic, and strong. I would consider myself as people driven. It would be a privilege to help underclassmen with their transition to college. Given these qualities, it felt relatable to the responsibilities in this position.
2. University Center is home for people from diverse backgrounds, abilities, lifestyles, and cultures. Please write a significant experience you have had with people different from you. How have you grown from the experiences?
I currently an America Needs You Ambassador where I promote the organization to potential first generation, minority, and low income freshman students. The organization encourages people who are of any ethnic background to apply. During this experience, I would host information sessions and tabling with groups of possible applicants. It was a rewarding experience to explain the program in a welcoming manner to everyone. It was a time for me to help and acknowledge the diversity that is involved in the program. This foundation that has been constructed wouldn’t be possible without all the staff. Essentially, the RA is held as the main resource for anyone who wants to live and thrive at the University Center. Building community in the University Center Chicago is the most rewarding activity possible. The responsibility of helping others on a daily basis and promoting an amazing experience is something I would look forward working toward. The sense of community that has been displayed for me as a resident is valuable and I would appreciate nothing less than to continue that experience for future
