Dermatologist nurses work in a variety of facilities. For example, they might work within a burn unit, private clinic, dermatology practice or a plastic surgeons' office. The life of a Dermatologist nurse can be hectic. On a typical day, work starts around 8am and appointments are scheduled aggressively throughout the day. Patients either come for medical or cosmetic reasons. To add, a nurse is paired up with either a doctor or a nurse practitioner. One aspect that excites me about becoming a dermatologist nurse is examining different types of skin. For five years now I have grown to love cosmetics and giving information to others on what I know about skin. The thrill of treating a patient is what I am most passionate about.
