Working within education for nearly a decade affords me insight into one of the world’s largest industries. The inner workings of pre-schools through Universities and the functions of the school boards are no mystery to insiders like me.
Currently, I work as a career placement advisor,
researching and discovering pathways to an education, job or career for hard to place students. My role as a Career Specialist changes whenever new needs for industries and students develop, which works well with my innovative nature.
Research is in my blood and students often tap my veins for creative juices. Each graduate has the opportunity to see me concerning his or her career. I work to build explorative internships, curriculum and events to insure a respectable fit with employers and majors for each individual who comes to visit the Career Center. From implementing military career exploration with Explore Engineering, hosting 200+ students at Umpqua Community College, to creating more interpersonal development courses for students at Crash Course Career Prep and Cookie Bytes classes at Clackamas Community College, I work to serve those around me.
During my time working on my undergrad, I conducted research into children’s cancer treatments with Monty’s Corner, alternative treatment effects on Hepatocellular Carcinoma with ICAN and exploration of environmental and genetic factors in Gorham’s Disease and Lymphangiamatiosis with the Alfie Milne Lymphangiamatosis Trust.
My MFA in English Creative Writing along with my accumulative 80+ college science credits makes me a good fit for researching and discovering many worlds to share.
