The number of jobs as a Physical Therapist across the country in 2018 is projected to be 242,700. PTs make an average of $79,860 per year (salary) and $38.39 per hour (minimum). The best paid ten percent made $112,020 a year and the bottom ten percent made $55,020 a year. To start in the Physical Therapy field you would need a doctoral professional degree as your entry level education.
A typical work day would be 10 hours. In a work day a PT has to take care of and do a lot of things. These things include: designing and implementing appropriate physical therapies for a patient, supervising PT assistants and students., maximizing learning, providing direct student instruction, and ordering appropriate equipment for treatment areas. And this is only some of the responsibilities a PT has during the day.
