Why I Want To Be A Small Town Essay
I am one of many students who come from small-town U.S.A. with huge aspirations. I have a great desire to depart from my home in order to pursue my dreams. My passion is to become a script/screenwriter for film companies that include; Walt Disney and Pixar Studios. These aspirations came from a small town I call home. Growing up in a small town is not difficult but it can be irritating. When I was younger I believed that my town was a dreadful prison and desired to escape its repulsive grip that it held on me. This town presented itself with nothing except for a Wal-mart and a few fast food restaurants and the nearest mall was thirty minutes away in another state. It was not until, the end of my Sophomore year when I joined Sallisaw Youth Coalition(SYC), that I realized that this small town has plenty to offer its citizens. It may not offer malls or luxurious restaurants but it offers all that it can manage for its residents. From the moment I affiliated with SYC, I became involved with activities in my community that I didn't even know existed. The more active I became with SYC the more my perception of the town changed. I began to see the town as a supportive friendly environment. If I accomplished anything from growing up in a small town it's learning that you truly can't judge a book by its' cover. This town may appear horrible and hopeless but the heart of this town is its warm generous people who care to improve it. Many of the warm generous people are the teachers that want to witness their students succeed in life. I dedicate my academic success to my wonderful instructors. My exceptional teachers taught me that if you apply yourself to the difficulties at hand you will develop skills that will advance your knowledge in the future. This advice is kept close to my heart and serves as a support when tasks seem challenging. My ambitions for becoming a script/screenwriter are usually diminished or frowned upon
