Instead of only having those things, you could also have events where the homeless can do fun activities that usually cost money. I think this is a good idea because they might be able to be happy and have fun for a change and will also be provided with things they need.
My last idea is to have a fair where people can sell stuff and have fun activities, but all the profit goes to the homeless. It would be like a regular fair with games and rides, but half of the prophet would go to the homeless. This idea is sort of a way to help while still having fun.
