My second grade teacher, Ms. Di Loretta, triggered what was an explorative, thought provoking and profound academic journey for me. Her teachings provided me with an opportunity to improve my intellectual being. She engrained in me an intellectual stimulation that triggered something meaningful. She taught me that it was a risk to learn something useful and intriguing; I was academically inspired in ways I never dreamed. I am hopeful to take that passion for learning with me to George Mason University.

However, honesty and the reality of the situation prevents me from saying so. The fact remains that Ms. Di Loretta and Coach Daly inspire me. While I am no longer their student in theory, I am a student of theirs in life. What I have as a take away from their teachings and training is something more powerful that I am sure Thoreau could have written. GMU is my future, one filled with promise.
I owe these teachers a debt of tremendous gratitude, for without them, I am certain that books and sports, with all their beauty and might would not hold the same value they do for me today. Their teachings are so far reaching; I have found that the finest place to be is in school –surrounded by knowledge.
