Why I Want To Pursue A Biomedical Engineering Degree

I aspire to become a professional biomedical engineer as it’s always been the one of my many ambitions that I have for my career. Applying for a place in the Biomedical Engineering (BEng) course at King’s College University will allow me to fully utilize the facilities available to further develop my professional skills such as being able to design, develop and test new materials, devices and equipment. Having just completed my foundation year at City University, my interests were aroused for topics covered in applying engineering practices to the human body. I found myself to be captivated, constantly engaged and gratified with the many potential benefits for the health care system applications, such as the innovatively designed vein-viewer where it is able to moderate the great number of injuries due to injections.

Amid my foundation year at City University, I gained a sufficient level of familiarity with circuit design, implementation, testing and presentation through many labs
Working at this company has been extremely productive, I have had the opportunity to work first hand with biomedical/electrical engineers and also get to see the latest medical innovations daily. I have also had the opportunity to visit the radiology department of Northwick Park Hospital. It was a breathtaking experiment for me to witness. It demonstrated the role of physics and engineering in modern medicine. Physicists and engineers have made MRI scans, CT scans and even more unique techniques such as key hole surgery and robot-assisted surgery possible. I am determined to succeed in my chosen field of engineering and believe that King's College University will be the one to help me
