would learn the daily routine of a radiologist, including the management skills necessary to run a medical office. I plan to meet with several professionals in biomedical fields in the near future so that I may shadow them and gain different experiences involving interaction within a professional setting.
Radiology is a rapidly changing field that requires practitioners to take proactive roles within the community.
In some cases, specialists group together to investigate difficult subjects such as widespread disease and collaborate in order to provide a higher quality of life. A radiologist’s role may change depending on different situations and therefore must demonstrate his or her specialization to a greater or lesser extent depending on the situation. Radiology covers a wide range of disciplines that require connections among other clinicians so proper referrals to experts with greater specializations can be made in order to provide a higher quality of life for visiting
patients.
Biomedical engineering is another area of interest. As more artificial organs and implanted devices become routine, radiology will become a significant partner in monitoring and diagnosing problems. As I gain more experience in my undergraduate studies, I will gain the knowledge and expertise to attain my goals. Attending the Summer Health Professions Education Program can give me the clinical exposure, career development, interview, time management, study, and life skills that will help me achieve my fullest potential. I may even make lifetime friendships with colleagues that can form a network of professionals to collaborate on future research and discoveries.
