More ideas, new ways, and bigger accomplishments. Affirmative Action gives people from all over the world, different races, a better opportunity to create a better life for themselves and their families. As a person against Affirmative Action would say, “All people are equal under the laws of the United States of America and should be treated accordingly.” (Arguments for and against affirmative action, n/d). This claim also supports the idea that Affirmative Action still necessary because everyone should get an equal chance for everything, like achieve something that they want in life and without affirmative action, not everyone would be able to do that. …show more content…
Yes, when you apply for jobs most applications ask if your race, eye color, hair color, etc.
No, it should not matter what your answers are because that does not show what you are capable of and no matter your race, it does not lower your abilities. If a job or school does not want to accept a person because of their race or features, that is discrimination and Affirmative Actions a way to prevent that from happening. It will make sure that race has nothing to do with any kind of admissions and that everyone has an equal chance of achieving something and not just a certain race. In a way, it protects people from being
discriminated.
People need to stop discriminating and without this law it probably would never end. People get treated differently and sometimes violently only because of their race and it is not fair. Things like that can cause more problems and there is a chance that it can cause problems for the government from other states if it came down to it. Everyone needs to be protected and feel safe where they are, and Affirmative Action will do just that. Enforcing this law will make people pause and ask themselves if it is a good idea to discriminate or hate on another person because of who they are. It will ensure that everyone will always be given an equal amount of opportunity and not just the smartest or the richest people.
Affirmative Action encourages students from different cultures to think twice about their abilities and put in effort to their work knowing that they will be able to accomplish something in their future. It lets them know that they have a chance to become something great because it is possible with this policy. As used in the site, "Affirmative Action has put race as the dominant factor in employee recruitment and school admission procedures, where it is believed that the best people for certain positions should be put there, regardless of color and race." (Geen Garage, 2015). Affirmative Action does not support choosing anyone by the color of their skin, but it helps the people that are being discriminated for it. It ensures that the people hiring are not choosing them because of their race, but their abilities. All we want to make sure is that no one is being let down or being put aside because of it.
