Some of the most well known animals used in experimentation are dogs, monkeys, rats, mice and other primates. One pro-rights issue that concerns many is the moral status of the animal. Many pro-rights believe that animals should be allowed to live a full life just like humans because they are viewed as helpless. One major concern is the ethics …show more content…
According to an article written and published by People For The Ethical Of Animals(PETA) “Animal Experimentation Is Bad Science”, it was argued that this claim of medical advances only being made through animal experimentation is inaccurate and neither is is supported by evidence because the simple fact is that most animal experimentation is not relative to human health. That same article pointed out that another is that comes up, is that we would have to test new drugs on people if we did not test it first through animal experimentation, however the article went on to reason that this claim is also inaccurate for many reason. Testing a drug on an animal and expecting the same results for humans is asinine simply because the tissues, organs and interaction is different in humans, than it is for animals. For example, morphine which is an antidepressant in humans, stimulates goats and cats. Another major point is that many of these animals who undergo these experiments are affected psychologically, therefore how can we rely on the validity and results of the data. There are many factors that can interfere with the results of these experimentation. An Article written by Marshal Eliot in “Science” reinforced that we already test new drugs on people. If
