Why Is Belonging Important To Children

Belonging has shown to be one of the most important concepts within a child’s life. Belonging so so important to a child that it is one of the three concepts of the Early Years Learning Framework which is taught all across Australia. This framework aims to give children a better sense of wellbeing and belonging. ( Part of this information was found in the educators guide to the EYLF for Australia )
So by respecting, understanding and including a child’s culture we are then helping to give the child that sense of belonging that they need to grow and develop.When children are given the opportunity to fit in and belong it helps the child feel, accepted in the group and the community, despite any differences of culture or background.
