Benjamin Franklin was truly an amazing person. A few of the reasons he was so highly regarded were his inventions, his involvement in foreign and domestic politics, and his extensive work as an author and publisher. I feel that Benjamin Franklin was a brave and and insightful historical character.
Benjamin Franklin was born on January 17, 1706 into a family with nine other siblings. His family eventually ballooned to a total of seventeen. Ben was an exceptional student and one of the smartest children in his family. When Ben was ten years old he was taken out of school to work with his father as his assistant in a soap and candle making shop. His older brothers also worked at their fathers shop. Ben’s brother soon left the newspaper printing business, but Ben found that he truly loved writing and publishing, which became a lifelong career. Two of his most famous literary works are “Poor Richards Almanac” and “ The Way to Wealth.” These avant-garde works, which surprisingly have stood the test of time, were unusual because he discussed societal issues most deemed taboo during the late 1700’s. I conclude that these facts and events point towards Ben’s bravery and insightfulness. Ben invented many things including, the first lending library, street lights, and paved streets.
His scientific pursuits were mathmatics,map making, and electricity. He also helped launch the first college called the University of Pennsylvania. Ben was very insightful in inventing because he could see how these inventions would benefit other people. He was also very brave for doing this because he didn’t know what other people would think he just went for it. Many years later Ben got involved with Government and Politics. He is a major part of our history today. As you may know because of his involvement with the Government is one of our founding fathers. Benjamin Franklin is now almost 80 years of age and and he does something that he is most famous for. He wrote (drafted) the Declaration of Independence and signed it. This is very important in history, Because of him we are now free from Britain and he signed the treaty that ended the Revolutionary war. This is amazing because, just look at the amazing things he did in his life and look at what he just did he helped end a huge was and he wrote one of the amazing documents in U.S history at 80 years old, that is amazing. He was very Brave for sitting in a room and creating a document that changed
history.
