According to an article from CrimeLibrary, Whitman had a violent abusive father. The damage to his amygdala and the past experiences while growing up with an abusive father where a mix for disaster. He knew what he was doing was wrong but was unable to control his violent urges due to lack of fear and an emergency type of paranoia. The reason that Charles Whitman should be held accountable for his actions is because he knew what he was doing was wrong. He just had no control over his emotions/actions due to his mental state. If he was imprisoned, he would be reviewed and further information could have been taken and documented as to cause and effect and possible damage to the amygdala would have been discovered. Personally, I feel that the abuse he experienced from his father during his adolescent years contributed to the aggression and anger Whitman
