Why Is Donald Trump Effective
Donald Trump, or “The Donald,” is both loved and hated equally, and by both parties. Who else can say they offend both conservatives and liberals almost equally, yet still be winning their half of a presidential election? Whether you love him or hate him, the Donald is an extremely successful businessman and has forced people to take him seriously. He also regularly comes off as the perpetual bully on the playground, demanding that everyone do as he says and not question him in the least. He even takes his toys and goes home if he doesn’t get what he wants, as he did when he refused to participate in a previous Republican debate. However, even with the horse and pony show, bordering on three ring circus that is the Donald’s campaign, he is having a great deal of success. More than likely, though, this has nothing to do with his political fervor but instead his vivacious showmanship and keen business sense. The following outlines the real psychological tactics that Trump has utilized with great success during his presidential campaign: …show more content…
After all, no idiot can make as much money and be as successful as Trump. No, Trump is no dummy. He lets his opponents think he is though as part of his strategy. He does this to trick his opponents into not preparing as well for him. For example, if everyone else on the debate stage considered Trump a genius, they would likely prepare really well to face him. As it stands, they don’t, and as a result, Trump can sometimes surprise them with a pertinent point, which they are not prepared to

In Charles Blow’s “Failing All Tests of the Presidency” (2017) he asserts his opinion that Trump is not acting as a true president and he is merely holding a place for an actual president to arrive and replace him. Blow communicates this by saying “Donald Trump is a man of flawed character and a moral cavity,” and “His interests center on the self; country be damned.” He exaggerates all of Trump’s flaws without regard to the truth that, maybe he has done something good while in office. He does this in attempts to force his hatred of Donald Trump onto others that might already not support him. Charles Blow employs his hatred of Trump and writes very controversial articles to everyone who is indifferent or not in support of Donald Trump.…

In the politically motivated masterpiece Constructing the Political Spectacle, political scientist Murray Edelman argues that, politicians play with ambiguous language and false constructs to manipulate public ideology on current events. The author illustrates that by doing so, politicians can sway public opinion on matters that align with the goals of politicians. This analysis illustrates how President Trump utilized the elements of Edelman’s political spectacle in the 2018 State of the Union Address. This analysis identifies how President Trump constructs problems and enemies from within our country by illustrating how he plays on the opposing viewpoints of liberals and conservatives. In this episode of Washington Week we watch as Susan Davis, Alexis Simendinger, Michael Duffy, and John Harwood discuss the issue of how Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz use Donald Trump as a punching bag in the last Republican debate and if it altered Trump's campaign indefinitely. In the beginning of this episode we see how Trump, Rubio, and Cruz battle each other to prove who would be a better president, however Cruz and Rubio were prepared to team up and bombard Trump with child like arguments. For example, Rubio calls Trump a con man and gets a laugh out of the audience when he says, “Well now he’s repeating himself” and that Trump, “wanted to make sure his pants weren’t wet”. Likewise, Cruz reveals to the audience that Trump says he will go to…

During every campaign season, politicians and activists seek approval of the public by affirming issues of concern and making decent pledges to the electorate. They use rhetorical techniques as well as political gimmickry to capture the public’s attention, get their approval and persuade them tactfully, all this in order to achieve power. This is interesting because the public’s approval plays a significant role in ascertaining the president’s political power and policy-making.…

In“Trump’s Bluster Is Heard Around the World,” an article published on Yahoo! Politics by Gregory Katz, sarcastic tone and vivid descriptions portray Donald Trump as a selfish human being to manipulate readers he will not be a good president. Katz’s sarcastic and criticizing tone adds to the negative view of Trump presented in this article;“His is clearly a recognized name worldwide, which is not to say it's a beloved one.” Katz then proves this point by quoting individuals from around the world. In the first description of Trump, a woman who lives next to a Trump resort calls Trump a spoiled “strange fish.” She then describes his toddler-like tantrums, causing an image of diaper wearing Trump whining and flopping for what he wants to pop into our heads. Katz’s next proof is a video of Mexican comedians dressed as Donald Trump performing an act written from his statements. The comedians are all wearing fake guts, Neanderthal clothing, and blonde wigs. Katz writes, “It's striking how many people know of him at all,” as if Trump is some new American celebrity who is just now getting attention for his statements. It is almost impossible to not recognize the Trump name. His name is on everything he owns, and he owns buildings, programs, and boats worldwide. Trump had been known by the world way before he decided to run for president. To end the article and finish his characterization of Trump, Katz writes,“That would be one side of Trump that few if any have seen — one who says ‘sorry’.” Like Buzzfeed and Alphacat, Katz includes mockery of Trump so viewers will chuckle at their possible leader. This humor alongside Katz’s sarcastic and condescending tone alarm readers that Trump is well known, not well…

For example, the Justice Department sued Trump’s real estate company twice for not allowing black people to rent his apartments. The company gave different rental terms and conditions to black people that were unfair. The company also lied to them, saying their were no rooms available. During the presidential debates, Donald was asked about those claims and responded saying how an abundance of other companies have done that as well, as if that makes it okay for a future president to do so. In addition, Donald also attacked Muslim gold star parents verbally. Their son had died serving in the Iraq War. After the father gave a speech at the Democratic National Convention Trump said, “ If you look at his wife, she was standing there. She had nothing to say. The chapter that I found to be the most interesting was the most interesting was Chapter 10 because it goes into depth about the job duties and functions of an HR manager or specialist. Learning about all that goes into considering which applicants to choose to how much to pay is very interesting and I never really knew how complex the issue could be. For example, sometimes when I call to check on a job application the HR manager may state that the position will be filled internally (very discouraging to hear); however, now I see that they do so based on a number of reasons.…

In fact, he has entered bankruptcy four times on different occasions so how will this man be able to manage the country's economy? He thinks he is correct and has no concerns if people disagree with him. Finally, Donald Trump is very racist. “ Laziness is a trait in blacks” was what Trump said and as you can see, this is clearly not true as people excluding blacks are also lazy. In short, Donald Trump is not fit for being president as he clearly cannot manage the country's economy since he couldn't manage his budget 4 times and never had a job in the government so he doesn't know how it works as you cannot simply get something done in a blink of an eye.…
