It would be overwhelming, but the vast stadium spreads out the aroma as much as possible. People immediately go on a quest to search for the scoreboard, but nobody looks for very long, because stretched from one twenty-yard line to the other lies the oversized HD scoreboard that is unrivaled by any other. Next to the mammoth scoreboard an Imax would look like a tablet, on each side of the main screen there is a smaller screen that is still monumental. All of the walls are either navy blue or gray, the only other colors in the place come from the glare of the scoreboard’s lights. Every seat is a drop of water in a sea of blue, with the only blemish being the occasional fan for the opponent. There are over seven billion people on this Earth, so what is it that makes me so different? I wear Nike, I drive a car, I play video games, I have chores, and could be considered a pretty normal person. I love, I laugh, I get angry, and I have emotions just like every other human being. The one thing I heavily identify with is football. For as long as I can remember I’ve played ball, and made some great friends along the way. The picture in the top left is a great representation of this. Football has taught me lessons of leadership, perseverance, toughness, how to deal with the highest of highs, and the lowest of lows. (Bottom left: aftermath of beating Staley) Above all else, the best thing it has taught me was loyalty. Not only loyalty to a cause, but loyalty to my brothers, and ultimately my family. Football has created a foundation for my character, and without it I am certain I would not be the same person I am today.…

Sports play such a huge role in our society; many people form their lives around watching or playing a certain sport. In my house, when football season starts, my dad and brother watch football religiously every Sunday and Monday. On Sundays some of my dad's friends come over to watch the game, my mom prepares snacks and lunch for "the guys". When the game is on they are so interested in it, that they have no idea what is going on around them, I try to talk to my dad when the game is on and he always seems to ignore me. I love how they get so into the game, and cheer really loud and yell at the television. For them like many other people, they have found football to be a hobby, something to do in there past time. They have formed habits around watching the game.…

Everybody loves the game, people are always playing it, it is the soul of the universe. When you put on the pads, lace up the spikes, and buckle your helmet you walk onto the field and nothing else matters. You will forget if you failed a test, fought with a friend, or lost some money…. Because for the next few hours your day will be perfect. Here’s to touchdowns, field goals, extra points, fumbles, dropped passes, amazing catches, monster hits, interceptions, overtimes, come from behind wins, close games, broken bones, warm days, cold afternoons, rivalries, pick-up games, gallons of Gatorade, endless hours of practice, coaches, teammates, friends, let downs, miracles, but most of all the game, Football, Why? Why do we run back and forth day after day? Hitting and running so hard we ache everywhere. Pushing it so hard we listen to our hearts beat rings in our head, while our lungs desperately gasp for air. Early mornings, late nights, Saturdays and Sundays, endless mistakes, deep bruises, broken bones, and torn muscles and ligaments. We hustle thru it all. Because we live off our adrenaline, because the game frees your soul, because the party after the big win is spectacular, because you are invincible once you step onto the field. A big play could make you smile all day long. The rattling of the crowd, the feel of the ball, the image of the spikes in the dirt, it’s a glory to live by. Because it is possible to hustle hard enough you can leave your worries behind. Sweat is the cologne of our accomplishments, Why? Why should anyone push themselves so hard?
