A phone with GPS allows a user to share where they are to their friends.
GPS devices let individuals contribute to making digital maps through companies like Google. People can add information about buildings, bodies of water, and streets into a GPS device to improve digital maps. GPS is useful to geographers when coding the precise location of objects in fieldwork. GIS stands for Geographic Information System. GIS is a computer system that shows geographic data. A GIS captures, stores, queries, and analyzes data. A GIS is useful to geographers when they create maps. Maps made with GIS are generally more attractive and accurate than hand-drawn maps. The location of an object can be measured and recorded onto a computer. Using a number of stored objects on a computer a map can be created. Pen and ink are less effective than GIS. Information can be stored in a layer. Most of the time simple maps use only one layer, but with GIS multiple layers can be added to create a more complex and better
map.
In question two I will be describing the location of my house. The city or place name that my house is located in is called Minnetonka. The site characteristic at and near my house includes warm summers and cold winters, small hills, lakes, and patches of trees and other vegetation. The situation of my house from Groveland Elementary school and Minnetonka Blvd is past the school, turn and pass at Gro Tonka Park, go down Cottage Grove Ave, and look for the house across the street from Groveland park. In the geographic grid, the mathematical location of my house is Latitude 44.94536 and longitude -93.49233. That is the geographic location of my house.
