In Act 2 Hamlet puts up a play displaying how the “spirit”(Hamlet Sr.) explained the terrible plot that claudius use to kill him for the new king. This means a lot, he is willing to put the king on the spot in front of everyone. All of this is to prove what is right and what is wrong. This is important, as king to know what is right from wrong and using that royalty and the power for good not evil. Hamlet used his good morals to try and take down the king the man on the throne, Hamlet knows what is right for the people And that is most important when it comes to being leader. …show more content…
Also through the story we all come to know that Hamlet is liked by many people.
“The other motive why to a public count i might go is the great love the General gender bear him”(4.7 244). In the book he Travels to England to school unlike claudius who isn't smart. Hamlet has good intentions for his country. His father who had defeated fortinbras and then mysteriously died. So being son of the ex king that had such success for Denmark, would bring the public to have those high expectations for Hamlet. He is also responsible and believes doing the rights thing, which is a extremely hard to find in a wealthy family. This is how Hamlet made it to being popular in
Denmark.
One other Thing that would make Hamlet a good King, would be for the fact is he says the truth. Also speaks what is on his mind, no matter who is around. For example when he tells them about what he had done to polonius his reply was “In Heaven. Send thither to see. If your messenger find him not there, seek him i’th other places yourself.”(4.3 pg 214). Also in another part When he is telling his mother how evil claudius is he says, “A murderer and a villain, a slave that is not twentieth part the tithe of your precedent lord, A vice of kings, A cutpurse of the empire and the rule, That from a shelf the precious diadem stole and put in his pocket.”(3.4 pg 196). All of these things he is say to the kings or about the king. This goes to show that even though he's talking about the king, Hamlet shows little concern. But in the end it takes multiple qualities to be king of a country. Hamlet being able to determine what is right from wrong is a very important thing. For the simple fact if you don't do the right thing when you have to the consequences could be unforgiving. Also making sure the people support you is a big thing, if your country isn't proud to have you as your leader they won't obey you. Last Thing is making sure you can speak up and say what's needed to be said. not beating around the bush trying to hide what the people may not want to hear. In my conclusion, I say i will agree to fortinbras. I thinks that Hamlet would have been a very fit king for denmark. He has great morals, and isn't afraid to do the right thing for his people. While being able to speak up in front of anyone!
