Henry Ford was born on July 30th, 1863 on his family's farm in Wayne County near Dearborn, Michigan. When Henry was 13 years old his dad gave him a pocket watch. When he got it, he kept taking it apart and putting it together repeatedly. Everybody around them were very impressed with Henry so then they had him fix all their watches. Then when Henry was 16 he left to be a machinist in shipbuilding in Detroit. Then learned how to service and operate the big steam engines. Eight years after he was married he started to come up with ideas about the horseless carriage. The first model he created was called the “Ford Quadricycle”. He attended meetings with Thomas Edison to talk about his automobile plans then Thomas encouraged Ford into making a second model. Without Thomas Edison helping out Henry and encouraging him to keep doing what he was
