(To be or not to be speech)
In all great stories or plays there is always a question that makes you think more than what you would like to think. In the story Hamlet, Hamlet himself has a speech of to be or not to be. Thats a great question, if one can not understand it in that way maybe in a way of to fight or to give up, to be happy or to be sad, to go or not to go or maybe even to be good or not to be good. Many things can be used this way, but Shakespeare uses it as to be or not to be in Hamlet's part in the play where he is talking to himself and giving a tremendous speech. Hamlet has to know if he is going to give up or fight for what he wants. He knows that his stepfather Claudius killed his father by pouring poison down his ear while he was taking a nap in the garden. Does hamlet just give up and let him be king and be married to his mother. Let him be his new stepfather and rule the kingdom. Hamlet doesn’t want to just lose he wants to fight and take the life of the one who did kill his father. Hamlet invites his mother and stepfather to a play that Hamlet has set up, if Claudius jumps and his face acts as if he was surprised then he knows that his stepfather did infact killed his dad. While watching the play Claudius does jump and Hamlet then knows what he must do. He must kill him for killing his father. Hamlet knows that once he kills the king people are going to be coming after him for what he did. He could try telling the truth, that his dead father came and told him that it was his uncle that poured the poison down his ear, but he might get laughed at and nobody to believe him. Hamlet is stuck with the choice to fight or give up. At this point I don’t know what Hamlet will
