Why Is It Important To Be Child Soldiers Essay

Child soldiers are a problem for kids under age the of 15 that who are forced into military service. This putting young kids lives into danger putting them into battle to fight.Also kids this young should not be taught this kind of violence. According to article 38 of the Convention of the Rights of a Child,some governments should be “establishing a ban” (fact sheet) against forced military. This is still important today because there should not be any child under 18 going through this kind of danger or worries through his life.
On the other hand, children are used as child soldiers because of religious reasons and because joining the army may be the only way to survive. Also, because it’s the best way to secure food and protection. Children
may also have active reasons to want to fight. They also may might see themselves fighting for social justice. Therefore many children want to become soldiers and voluntarily offer themselves to the military government. Some want to fight for their religious beliefs or culture identity. “ In more personal terms they may also be seeking revenge for the deaths of their parents”(child soldiers). some believe in child military service. Another reason why it might be a good thing for children under age of 18 to be child soldiers is because they can be taught how to use a gun to protect their friends and family. Last,some kids might want to join is because they were provided food and shelter.
There are many important reasons why children should be protected from forced military recruitment. One of them is that too many children are getting killed for fighting at such a young age. So many kids are learning so much violence from the stuff they are being taught. Kids at such a young age should not see the blood and gore when people are killed. For example, The Daily Beast news paper saiys “a 12 year old was filmed last week shooting an accused spy in the forhead then pumping rounds in his body”.(p2 suicide bombers) This also shows when a younger kid like this is showed violence how much damage just that a young of a kid can do. Another example in the daily newspaper is what the video caught “the extremist a new militant song can be heard playing in the back ground” with what the little boy said “we have come, we have come, we have come as soldiers for god. We have marched, we have marched, we have marched out of love for god we know religion, we live by it we build on edifice, we ascend it, we deny humiliation we have experienced we put an end to idolatrous tyranny.”(p2 suicide bombers) This shows from this quote that this 12 year old is getting revenge and is saying that he is doing this for god and his religion.
Instead of being in a forced military service for the government seeing all this violence and gore.
Children should be out being innocent kids playing with their friends playing video games enjoying life. Children should be going to school to get their diploma and so they can go to college to get a real job that they actually want. Families should not have to deal with their little and worrying about them at such a young age in the military. Especially people should not go through every day with a gun by their side to protect themselves. Families and their children should be able to have a good job and education and after coming home from work they should be able to go relax and have family time with each other and watch tv. Families also shouldn't have to hide their own children so the government won't take them.for example “indigenous children in peru who have been forced to join guerrilla band have undergone 1000 periods of forced political indoctrination”(pg2 child soldiers) This example shows that children are forced to do stuff that they shouldn't be forced to do. Children should not hide in their own house so that the government don't take them away from their families. To many children are getting killed because of this kinda stuff. For example “in the past decade an estimate of two million children have been killed in armed conflict.three times as many have been permanently disabled or seriously injured”(children,conflicts and the military)this shows that children have much right to speak and tell what they want. Little children are losing limbs and the most part is
dying.
