WHAT IS BACKGROUND CHECK?
Background check is the process of finding out the background details of an individual. It includes checking the criminal records, financial records and commercial records of a person. Background check is usually done to find whether the person has lied to his interviewer about his degree and qualification or not. May be that person has criminal background. A large company can tolerate the loss if any employee is dishonest to them but not all the companies can tolerate this loss therefore they check the background of a person.

The person who has been hired is a total stranger and has complete access to your costumers and cash. It is like giving front door key of your house to a total stranger just because he looks good and talks in a good manner. You need to make sure that the person hasn’t lied to you, the information he has provided to you on his resume is correct. Background check is equally important for large and small businesses because no wants to suffer the lost. If you find out later that a person has lied about himself it can hurt the reputation of your company.
2) Companies also perform drug tests and check criminal records. These tests help in determining the nature of a person more clearly. The background check also reduces the cases of fraud, theft, abuse, violence, and drug use on job. These negative actions can result in fine to the companies. On the other hand these negative actions of an employee can damage the reputation of company as well.
3) What if the person has lied to you about his experience, degree and qualification? Isn’t it harmful for your company to hire a person who doesn’t have knowledge about his job? Yes it is.
