The first degrading act Brutus commits is that he lets Cassius flatter him into agreeing with him that Caesar must be killed. He is not standing up for what he believes is true. Brutus did not mind Caesar until Cassius filled his head with his honey words. Although he didn't want Caesar to have the crown he would have never thought about executing his old friend, until Cassius steps into the picture. After Cassius talks to him, he views Caesar as too ambitious. If Brutus would have rejected Cassius’s idea and stood up for what he truly believed in he could have been called a noble Roman.

Suicide is a selfish and cruel way to avoid facing your fears. Especially, since Brutus is the one who backed himself into this corner by being swayed by Cassius’ words and killing Caesar. Although most people don’t accommodate on how Antony and Octavius are trying to run Rome, Antony and Octavius agreed to give Brutus a noble funeral that in all likelihood, he doesn’t deserve. They were more noble than Brutus had ever been in his life.
