Why Is Law Enforcement Important
Law Enforcement
Law enforcement is one the main components of the criminal justice system in the US. Law enforcement officers are in charge of keeping the country and its individuals safe by investigating any criminal activity, and responding to any emergency or hazard against the safety of any individual in this country. In this essay I will be talking about the history of law enforcement how it was born, police functions and police ethics.

History
Law enforcement in America, stared back in the 1700s when the population started growing. Previous to this our folks didn't have the need of law enforcement officers because the rates of crime were really low and they could solve problems in the community or the families.

This code is divided on five different codes on of them says as follows: “As a Law Enforcement Officer my fundamental duty is to serve mankind; to safeguard lives and property; to protect the innocent against deception, the weak against oppression or intimidation, and the peaceful against violence or disorder; and to respect the Constitutional rights of all men to liberty, equality and justice.
Even with all the rules and ethics this profession posses, there has been a lot of polemic about the performance of officers on encounters with people from different races. As we have seen in the news a lot of people had been judge just for the fact that they belong to a certain race and in a country as multicultural as united states that is a big issue.
Also, corruption plays a huge part in the violation of police ethics. It is present in all levels of law enforcement and often has to be under control.
