range. Malcom X was unfairly killed at the age of 39 over his teacher’s volatile feelings for his student. He was intelligent, articulate, and committed his life to his beliefs. He was charismatic, driven, and a natural born leader and role model for all.
Malcom X also cared about his people no matter the cost. Malcom X was a clever and perceptive man even when bad things happened to him. Malcom was put into various foster homes and orphanages after his mother went insane. Eventually, Malcom and his friend Shorty soon went back to Boston in 1946 were they were arrested and convicted on burglary charges and sentenced to ten years in prison. There he remembered his time as child when he loved education and in jail he furthered it. In jail his brother Reginald would come over and talk about how he converted to Islam and told him the ways of Islam and that opened the eyes of Malcom forever. Malcom was intrigued and began to study Elijah Muhammad’s teachings and devoted his whole life to Islamic beliefs. He was so driven to learn his religion and for equality among his fellow brothers and sisters. During segregated times Malcom X was a civil rights activist who wanted all blacks to be treated equally and fair. Though the way he saw it was that black people must do anything and everything to be treated fair even if it lead to violence. His drive made him a target for the FBI and they kept a close eye on his every
move. The FBI also feared how big NOI was getting during his role as their leader. His radical ways was a door to others and a time bomb to others. Malcom X was anything but peaceful to the white kind that didn’t treat the black kind as fair as they are treated. Malcom was such a radical activist that he and Martin Luther King Jr. would get into arguments over which way to settle it with violence or with peace. Later on in Malcom’s life he goes to mecca where he meets white people he can call his brothers. No longer did he see color after that day, the only thing he saw was a chance for him to have more white brothers and sisters. Malcom was a man who through his learnings could see more than anybody else. He wanted all people no matter what skin color to be treated right. A great leader who got more and more followers for his organization just by speaking. Malcom X showed us how to think the unthinkable in hard times but also find another route when every single thing we know love is a lie. That’s why Malcom X was mistakenly assassinated and will never be able to see how much the world has changed.
