Why Is Martin Luther King Jr Important To Me
The works and life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. -How they have affected me and how I will carry out his teachings in my life” Martin Luther King showed me how we have to stand up for what we believe in and pursuit our own dreams. Once he said, "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." This quote brings everyone together because even though we have our own unique individuality, in the end we are just one human race with same rights. And this proved to me that I wasn't alone because other people are going through the same troubles in life and it takes one determination, courage, hope, confidence, and time to over come the issues in life.

Martin Luther King, who was an activist and leader in African- American civil right movement. The first thing I read about Martin Luther King was his famous speech called "I have a dream". In the speech, He said that all men are created equal; he spoke of his desire for a future where black and white would coexist harmoniously as equals someday and his dream of a day when people would judge one another not by what their skin color is on the surface but by their characteristics. After the reading, I was very inspired by it and thought this is how we should be. However, it is a fact that to this day many people judge by what they look on the surface unconsciously or consciously because we are so used to defining another individuality by their appearance. I know dream and reality are different but Martin Luther King made me believe that it is possible for a dream to turn into reality by
