Why Is Mrs Alvarado Important
It is important to learn experience from others, because you will know what to not to do and what you could do. Mrs. Alvarado has taught me characteristics to follow in life. Three characteristics I have learned from Mrs. Alvarado are honesty, acceptance, and respect.

First and foremost honesty is a great thing to have because people will trust you. Mrs. Alvarado was waiting in line at Burger King when she saw $20 on the floor. She picked it up and asked whose it was, and gave it back to them. Mrs. Alvarado was shopping at Jcpenney and went to pay for the things she had gotten from the store. When they gave her the change back she noticed it was too much and gave the money back. Mrs. Alvarado went through the drive through at Mcdonald’s and ordered a Big Mac, large fries, 10 chicken nuggets, and a large sweet tea. When she went to get the food it was double of what she had ordered, and she told them and they told her to just keep it. You should always be honest because if you lie you will just feel guilty and you don’t want to feel guilty do you?

Mrs. Alvarado saw a person that no one ever talked to at church. Mrs Alvarado approached her and started talking to her. Then she saw a man with ripped jeans and tattoos and ear rings and other stuff. She went to talk to him and asked him where he was from and other stuff. At school Mrs. Alvarado saw a kid sitting by herself. Mrs. Alvarado went toward her and started talking to her, and they became friends. You should always be accepting because if you're not you're just judging them without even knowing them. They might be a nice person, but you will never know if you’re not

I cherish honesty because when I was growing up, I was taught to always be honest with myself and others as well. Honesty is really the best policy because when one is being honest with others, they gain their trust and understanding. Honesty can be defined as “the quality of being fair and truthful : the quality of being honest” (Merriam Webster, 2016). I can use honesty in my professional life by gaining trust with my coworkers and building connections with them simply by being honest with them. Honesty does build trust because no one wants someone who is going to lie to them around them all the…

Honesty and integrity are the twin foundation on which we build trust. The word “trust” is often bandied about in the corporate environment, but as in any area of life, it is difficult to earn and very east to lose. Be honest in your communications with colleagues and superiors, own up to any mistakes you have made, take responsibility for your actions and be quick to share the credit and acknowledge the contributions of colleagues when appropriate. The default setting in a corporate environment, or any workplace for that matter is that people are very quick to accept credit and even quicker to distribute blame. By taking the harder road of being honest, sometimes at the expense of your pride, you lead by example.…

“If I could only give three words of advice, they would be, “tell the truth”. If I got three more words, I'd add: “All the time”. This is something I truly believe in. If you tell someone a lie when you mess up and they catch you, that person will lose trust in you and you will lose their loyalty. But if you tell the truth all the time, a person will know that when it comes down to it, they can trust you in other things and they will be loyal to you for being honest with them and taking responsibility for your own actions or mess ups.…

Often, people say that honesty is the best policy and is defined as the act of telling the truth to the best of one’s knowledge. Coupled with the definition of honesty is the belief that telling the truth all the time is good because of certain reasons. Primary motive is that many consider saying the truth as an aid in improving one’s self. For instance, one project organizer asks one of the staff if the theme chosen for the occasion is well suited. Then, one of the personnel has the guts to tell the truth that a better theme is fitted for the event. The project organizer will then have a better idea, thereupon aiding to the betterment of the organized project. Likewise, saying the truth helps us to earn others’ trusts. According to Nathalie Himmelrich, in her article entitled Truth versus Honesty: Is there a Difference , even though the explanation of the word ‘trust’ does not distinctively take into account the word honesty, it is implied in the word. Similarly, stating what reality…

Next, being honest keeps trust with others. For example, Cohen states in the article, “It’s the Truth: Americans Conflicted About Lying” that “One key cost is credibility: Once a person finds out you lied, you lose currency in their eyes” (Para. 12). This shows how you should tell the truth instead of lying. This also shows how being honest keeps trust with others. Your credibility is not worth giving up for a lie.…

Telling the truth is an important part of a trusting relationship, in or out of the workplace. Of course, honesty needs to be combined with other qualities such as patience, compassion and an open mind to differences in opinion. However, once you have established a foundation of honesty between you and your coworkers, an office begins to operate as a unified team rather than a collection of individual entities who will keep information to themselves. Not only does this make the organization more efficient, with…

The ability to have honesty is to do the right thing even if it may be hard. Honesty starts with a vision of what is right, not based on what somebody says is right but on what you feel in your heart is right. A year ago, one of my best friends wanted to participate in a talent show at school. She always had a thing for singing and she sang all the time. Where ever she went she had a song in her head. Unfortunately she did not have the best voice to carry out her songs. So one day I sat her down before the…

Acceptance is a very complex characteristic. An individual doesn’t automatically grow up accepting others. There are numerous factors that determine how accepting an individual is of others. Believe it or not everyone has biases and stereotypes towards others, in order to truly understand these biases and stereotypes and as well how accepting an individual is of others, you must look at their past experiences, the environment they grew up in, and the culture they were raised in. I know when someone truly accepts another person when they are able to value, trust, and respect a person regardless of their similarities and differences. I feel Cournoyer sums it up perfectly with one term, reverence. Cournoyer (2014) states “Reverence involves…

My grandmother taught me how important it is to tolerate people and certain situations. She told me showing people respect will get you a long way in life, as well as seeking help in hard times and facing problems instead of running away from them. Because of this, I try to see the good in people and over look the bad. When I have a problem I think of ways to solve it. When I cannot find a solution I ask for help before things get worse.…
