Oprah’s fame started around when she was only 17 years old. Winfrey won the Miss Black Tennessee beauty pageant and was offered an on-air job at a radio station called WVOL, serving the African American community.
After leaving Tennessee State University-where she was majoring in Speech Communication and Performing Arts-Oprah signed on with a local television station as a reporter and anchor.

After 24 seasons and over 5,000 broadcast, Oprah Winfrey decided to end The Oprah Winfrey Show. She now host a nightly show on her network called Oprah’s Lifeclass.
To me, Oprah Winfrey is very successful. She had started with something small and expanded it into a lot of helpful things. Oprah’s out-look is encouraging on the world today. She uses her power to change things, like politics and society’s movement through social media. Oprah Winfrey also appears as the highest paid performer on television, and the richest self-made woman in America. She is labeled as “The Most Powerful Woman In The World”.
