Disney also incorporates music in their recreation process, such as, when Pocahontas sings Colors of the Wind or Just Around the River Bend. Since the film is recreating what happened Disney animators tried to create the costumes for the characters as accurate as they could. They made Pocahontas a top and skirt that showed just a bit of her midsection out of buffalo skin and gave her a Native tattoo on her arm. On the other hand, they made John Smith wear a helmet, pants, a top with a vest, and boots. It is clear to identify Pocahontas as a Native American and John Smith as a white settler. Another aspect that Disney needed to consider when producing the film was the language. Since Disney went the recreating route when creating the film they should have made the film in the correct languages. Pocahontas and the other Native Americans should have spoken their native language Algonquin instead of English, while the Settlers should have spoken in old English. Instead of making the film in the correct language, Disney decided to make it contemporary of when the film was produced due to the fact that an exceeding amount of people would be able to understand it and subtitles would not be needed. How Disney produces the film in just English shows another way in which it wants to generate money.
