In the story, Romeo and Juliet, the final tragic outcome, namely the deaths of the two young lovers, was a result of human choices, rather than one of fate. Although fate played some role in Romeo and Juliet's deaths, the various characters' decisions and actions throughout the story eventually led to the tragedy. There were four main stepping stones, all resulting from man's decision, which finally ended with Romeo and Juliet taking their own lives.…
After reading Romeo and Juliet and “Teens and Decision Making” there are some connections that can be drawn between the two texts. In “Teens and Decision making” the author states, “When teens make choices in emotionally charged situations, those choices are often more weighted in feelings (the mature limbic system) over logic (the not-yet-mature prefrontal cortex)”. That relates to Romeo and Juliet because if they were thinking properly when they first meet and weren't overrun with emotions they would have realized that it is not a good idea to date your families enemy. Additionally, later on in the story they agree to get married after knowing each other less than a week. Shakespeare portrays this by saying, “Thy purpose marriage, send me…

What I believe Romeo and Juliet should have done instead of what they actually did. In the one scene on page 766, Romeo had visited Juliet in the orchard. Someone could have seen him there and he could have been killed. In scene four, the nurse had visited Romeo, he told her “Bid her devise. Some means to come to shrift this afternoon; and there she shall at Friar Laurence's’ cell.…

"Romeo and Juliet" revolves around two lovers whose love is destined for tragedy. In the Play "Romeo and Juliet", Act 2 Scene 3, Shakespeare demonstrates Romeo's impetuous, shallow and stubborn nature. These character flaws eventually lead to his tragic death and to the death of his love, Juliet. This can by shown in the passage of the Friar rebuking Romeo for his shallowness, and in the passage of the Friar ridiculing Romeo for his impulsive and stubborn act of desiring to wed Juliet, while knowing that their families will not permit their marriage.…
The foolish actions of people have surely not disappeared in the media because history repeats itself. Audiences notice that the foolish actions that people create a sequence of bad events, which result in a tragedy. Jack and rose’s unlikely love story of a working- class man and a woman who is not in love with her fiancé and Maria and tony’ doomed love due to the afflictions of their rival gangs, fall under this category. However, Romeo and Juliet have claimed the right to this title. Romeo and Juliet unravel mistakes that love can create and how passionate and impulsive it can be. Presented as the greatest love story of all time, Shakespeare also depicts the harsh truths of who is at fault for the doomed romance; the parents of Romeo and…
“Ignorance is a poison that kills love, friendship, and all the good feelings.” ~unknown. In The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet , written by William Shakespeare, a pair of star crossed lovers take their life. Romeo and Juliet take their own lives because of the man they trusted the most, Friar Lawrence. Lawrence's carelessness and ignorance in his actions cause the deaths of Romeo and Juliet.…
Black and white are opposite. It would be assumed that they would never be used together because the result would be rather grey. It would be assumed that this sort of comparison could never be beneficial. Although this is not the case in writing. For authors use paradoxes (such as black and white) to enforce themes. Shakespeare uses paradox to enforce themes, such as hate vs. love to exemplify the theme of the irrationality of ruthless hate, and youth vs. age enforcing impulsivity and open mindedness of the young and closed mindedness of the elder.…
“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal” (from a headstone in Ireland). When people die their loved ones often face depression and mourn for a long time especially if that loved one is someone you raised and watched grow up over the years. Sometimes individuals like to blame people for their loved ones death when in actuality there could be just more than one person to blame or no one at all. The death of Romeo and Juliet in William Shakespeare’s play is very unfortunate. Although a lot of things could have been done to avoid their suicides, these “star-crossed lovers” are not able to avoid their future. A series of unfortunate circumstances result in catastrophe, and even though many people could be…
Most teenagers fall in and out of love like day turns to night, Romeo and Juliet however, are different. Romeo and Juliet seem to think that they are each other’s one true love and are both prepared to do crazy things to protect it. Some say that they did these things because they’re teens and teens often do reckless things. In The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare the star-crossed lovers’ tale ultimately ends in death not only because teens often tend to value reward over risk but also because their families were feuding. The article “Teenage Brains” by David Dobbs also gives us insight on why teenagers like Romeo and Juliet tend to act the way they do.…
Many people took part in the death of Romeo and Juliet, but out of all the wrong done who deserves the blame? In the play Romeo and Juliet, Romeo was heart broken until he saw Juliet at a Capulet’s masquerade ball. Then as they began to date they wanted to be married, but would have had to be married in secret due to their feuding families. When Friar Lawrence agreed to marry them, their worlds flipped upside down in a twist of unfortunate events. Friar Lawrence deserves the blame of their deaths because he married Romeo and Juliet, he gave Juliet a sleeping potion, and he did not make sure Romeo received his letter.…

In my opinion I think that there is a lot of people to blem for Romeo and Juliet's death. One of the people that we should blem for Romeo and juliet’s death is themselves. Romeo and juliet didn't think of themselves or their beautiful future and even their families. When Romeo killed himself just for one minute he should have think of his mother, father or his family, his friend, his life without Juliet. When Juliet killed herself what she should have done in my opinion is to take one minute think of her mother even if she is not nice to her or she should have thing of the nurse or not all of these but of her future. Romeo and juliet and teenage and they are very emotional. In my opinion I think we would’d only blem Romeo and Juliet themselves because there are some people that make them make that decision. Like their families and or Friar Lorens.…
