than acting on that emotion in the moment I need to take a step back and think. Another lesson learnt from the works of Shakespeare is form Macbeth and that is do no not reach beyond your boundaries. There Is importance in knowing where your capabilities can take you and not trying to push yourself beyond them. Shakespeare is known for his plays but also for his contributions to the English language.
it is hard to say he is no longer relevant when there are endless references to his work. The study of Shakespeare has led to a significant improvement in my writing which is mainly why I believe he is still relevant to me. It may be the fact that I was forced to write essays about his work that improved my writing, but none the less I give credit for that improvement to him. Furthermore, I feel that there is an importance in understand where the language being used today has come from. Since Shakespeare is credited for evolving the English language I believe it is important for me to study it. I enjoy learning about history and I have also grown to enjoy writing so the study of Shakespeare is like getting the best of both
subjects.
Shakespeare’s relevancy to society is timeless because of his universal stories that continue to be told today. For me he is relevant because the impact from the study of his work in both my academics and personal life. I found elements of his plays I can relate to or learn something from and took those lessons into the real world. I also learnt valuable writing skills and language skills from his work which I took to the classroom. For these reasons I would say yes, Shakespeare is relevant to me.
