Why Is The Battle Of Stalingrad A Turning Point
The significance of the Battle of Stalingrad being a turning point was that the plan of the counter offence from the Soviet’s caused them to be able to break from the encirclement of the German’s which later lead to the defeat of the German’s for good since they had nothing they could do after the undefeated country being astonished that they lost and the city was proclaimed a Hero City of the Soviet’s for the defence of the German’s protecting the motherland. The battle of Kursk was a turning point because when the Soviet’s successful defence again caused them to win the battle against the German’s they were defeated by the vast expanse of minefields and anti-tank guns, a 155 miles deep defence even though they had new tanks they still could

    Before the battle, Germany was on a roll in the eastern front, they captured Kiev, cut off supplies to Leningrad, and bombed Moscow (Russia’s capital).
