Columbus came to the new world to attain rich resources for the Spanish crown in spite of using slave labor from the natives. Through this sacrifice, the queen and king of Spain praised Columbus for the accomplishments and the rich resource of gold. The same argument can be made with Hernan Cortes that used La Malinche to translate for him to conquer the Aztecs to attribute them as slave labor.
